I was diagnosed with a mild hearing loss at 4, was fitted with hearing aids at 7, and started wearing them at 12!!!
I have a progressive hearing loss – consequently, in 2009, I was fitted with my first Freedom Cochlear implant.
In 2016, as my hearing continued to deteriorate, I was fitted with my second Cochlear implant (Nucleus 6 – known as N6).
Really moving to read Andrew’s journey and how he’s handled the challenges of hearing loss. Stories like this show just how important it is to raise awareness and break the stigma. I reckon more people should look into proper support and technology, especially with so many options for hearing aids Australia wide. It’s great to see how the right help can make such a positive difference. Thanks for sharing this inspiring story.
